The musings of one of God’s smallest creatures on events in and around the Parish over the past seven days . . . .
Nice slow week around The Presbytery as lots of parishioners away from Parish on their holidays . . . . .
After Morning Prayer, Mass, and Exposition on Tuesday Fr D was away down to Crawley at the Diocesan Offices. He thought that he would spend some time on the next set of cases that he’ll be judging after Friday’s cases but there were a whole number of queries that had arrived at the office waiting for his attention, consequently he only got about six paragraphs written! When he got home in the evening he started to think about the Overseas Missions Appeal which is taking place in the Parish this weekend; this time it is the turn of the Xavarian Missionaries. Fr Robert Sowa will be making the appeal having travelled down from Scotland to be with us. Fr D was originally going to be in Hosanna House (Lourdes) but the adult group he was going as chaplain for was called off because the group leader’s grandfather was found to have stage four oesophageal cancer. Having booked the appeal Fr D is spending the weekend with friends.
Following Morning Prayer and Mass on Wednesday Fr D continued getting things ready for the weekend’s appeal (working on pick-up, drop-off, unlocking and locking the church) He took a trip up to Sainsburys to get a few keys cut, that he’s been putting off for lack of time for a while, as well.
Thursday after Morning Prayer and Mass Fr D spent some time catching up with Sarah in the Parish Office (making sure that she could read his scribbled notes which had been building up!). After lunch he was working on the newsletter, knowing that he was not going to be around after Mass on Friday because he had Tribunal Judgements to attend in Crawley. In the evening he prepared the guest room for Fr Sowa to stay in at the weekend . . . . .
