The musings of one of God’s smallest creatures on events in and around the Parish over the past seven days . . . .
Fr D returned from a wedding in the south of France on Tuesday afternoon this week and was immediately plunged back into Parish life . . . . .
This weekend, at our 11.00 Mass, some of the younger members of our community will be celebrating their First Eucharist - meeting Jesus for the first time in Holy Communion. They and their families have been working towards this day since the beginning of September last year and now they have arrived! Please make a point of greeting them as you leave Mass.
Fr D has spent a lot of time during the week finalising the booklet for the diaconate ordination next Thursday evening. He has sent off the proposed booklet to the diocesan liturgy gnomes before he went to France and there was an email awaiting him when he returned with (thankfully) some minor changes to be attended to. Once these had been done he sent the finished proof to both Paul and Sarah to read through for typos (not many!). These will be printed off and collated early next week ready for the day. Once he knows the final numbers of priests and deacons attending the service Fr D will work out a seating plan.
Our parish musicians and choir will be practising the music in the liturgy after the 11.00 Mass this weekend.
